Edenvale is a town on the East Rand in Gauteng, South Africa. Modern Edenvale has become a very well known part of Ekurhuleni. It lies about halfway between the O.R. Tambo International Airport and the Johannesburg city centre and is located 12km by road from Sandton and about 9km from the closest Gautrain station. Edenvale is a very quiet town which ranges from the middle class areas such as Eastleigh and Croyden to the upper class areas such as Dowerglen and Eden Glen. Edenvale is situated close to 2 major highways and the O R Tambo International Airport is only about 15 minutes away making it feel very central. Edenvale has the atmosphere of a peaceful town and one often forgets just how close it is to the city and all the bustling routes. Everybody has their favorite place to shop at and with quite a number of shopping centres to choose from it is not always that easy. Edenvale CBD used to have a few very popular malls, but since the opening of the larger shopping malls on Modderfontein road many stores moved out of the CBD. During the last few years Edenvale has expanded significantly. Two large malls have been erected, Greenstone and Stoneridge mall.
